CLUB CAPTAINS

The Captain of Carnwath Golf Club governs the Club Council and all of our Captains hold positions as Office Bearers. They dedicate a great deal of time to ensure the Club is lead well and operates successfully.

Acting Captain

A previous Past-Captain of Carnwath and a Member for many years, Darren has put himself forward for a second period of Captaincy and is currently serving as Acting Captain after Scott's resignation. He looks forward to helping the Club in what is hoped to be another successful period until 2026.

Our Captain in the 2023 Season, Scott's spell was unfortunately cut short as he had to resign from the Club for personal reasons. We thank Scott for his time on the Committee, as Captain and a Member of our Club and wish him all the best for his future. 

CLUB STAFF

Carnwath Golf Club are lucky to have some wonderful people working hard every day to make a success of the golf club for the benefit of all our Membership.

Linda Jardine
Club Secretary / Manager

Our most experienced member of staff and Club Secretary for over 30 years, Linda's tireless work ensures that everything at the Club operates on a day to day basis. If you have an enquiry on anything to do with the Club, Linda will be happy to help.

Bar Steward

A member of the Club for over 10 years, Brian works in our Bar & Lounge as well as maintaining the Clubhouse facilities. 

CLUB PROFESSIONALS

Our club PGA Professional Graham Gormley and Shop Assistant Kevin McLaughlin are always at hand to give advice and get you out on the course playing golf. Come and visit them in the Club Pro Shop.

Club Professional

Our experienced Club PGA Professional Graham Gormley has worked in the golf industry for many years. He's an expert in club fitting and his golf instruction is highly regarded by his students. Contact Graham with any enquiries for our Club Shop or to arrange some lessons.

Kevin McLaughlin
Club Shop Assistant 

Kevin has been a member at Carnwath Golf Club since 2007 and having recently retired, is delighted to play his part in the running of the Club. Kevin assists our PGA Professional, Graham, with all matters to do with Golf, Visitors and in the Club Shop. 

GREENS STAFF

Our magnificent Greens Staff maintain the course to such brilliant standards all year round. Say hello out on the Course and follow their Facebook Page for Course condition updates.

David Cowan

Head Greenkeeper

Our vastly experienced Head Greenkeeper, David Cowan, joined the Club shortly after leaving school. Having developed his knowledge and skills over 43 years at the Club, nobody knows the Course better.

Tom McDonald

First Assistant Greenkeeper

Tom is our First Assistant Greenkeeper here at Carnwath Golf Club. He loves taking pictures of his pride and joy (the Course!) and has worked with our Greens Staff for over 18 years.

Marc Cox

Greenkeeper

Our Greenkeeper Marc Cox comes from a family who have been involved at Carnwath Golf Club for many years. He has been with the Club for 13 years developing his knowledge of Greenkeeping and perfecting our Course.

A golf club doesn't operate without some dedicated members fulfilling key roles in their spare time. Below are some of our other key office bearers at Carnwath.

Honorary Treasurer

Bob has worked tirelessly over the years to improve the financial position of the Club. Since he returned to the post of Treasurer, the Club has continued to prosper financially and he works to ensure we improve year on year.

Honorary Match Secretary

Peter has given many years to the Club Council, including having served as Captain. Peter is our Match & Handicap Convener and his hard work ensures our fixtures run smoothly throughout the season. 

COUNCIL MEMBERS

At the heart of any decision, is the Club Council. We have some really talented and dedicated Members working hard to make Carnwath Golf Club a success. In addition to the Office Bearers, the Council Members below meet on a monthly basis to discuss Club matters.

Andrew Lewis

Commercial Convener

Andrew has been a Member of the Club for over 20 years and is a past Junior Captain. 

 

He joined the Club Council in 2016 and has worked with the Commercial Committee to improve the Club's image, from designing our new Club Crest, to improving our digital presence by building our Website and revamping our Social Media. He continues to lead on commercial initiatives for the Club.

Greens Convener

A Past Captain and also Green's Convener, Janet dedicates a huge amount of time to the Club.

 

This season, Janet will work with Head Greenskeeper, Davie, to enhance our beautiful course and ensure it continues to develop in the years to come. 

She has a passion for ensuring the course is in top shape.

Amanda Bryce

House Convener

A Member of for over 28 years, Amanda has dedicated a great deal of time to Carnwath, becoming the first female Captain of the Club in 2016. In that time, Amanda has won our Ladies Club Championship 14 times!

Amanda will continue on the House Committee and will get to work on improvements in the Clubhouse, ensuring that the environment continues to improve.

Match & Handicap Committee

Having joined the Committee for 2024, Mark brings technical experience to assist with systems development for the Match & Handicap Committee.

Junior Convener

A Past-Captain of Carnwath and a Member for many years, Adam has rejoined the Committee to assist in many areas, but particularly developing Junior Golf.

Michael McKeever
Social Committee

 Michael assists across the Committee bringing a fresh approach and new ideas. He also works alongside Rosemary to manage the Social Committee and to improve Member's experience.

Social Committee

Having joined the Committee for 2024, Rosemary brings years of experience in organising the Ladies Section. She will work with Michael on the Social Committee to bring new and fun events for our Members.

Greens Committee

George has joined the Committee for 2024 and has many years at the Club, particularly helping organise the Senior Section in recent years. He will work with Janet and the Greens team to ensure the course is in top condition.
